Article Submission Page 2
The reason I have made the subject of article submission so lengthy is
because it is a powerful resource. For new marketers, in particular it is a way to help you get quick results, make your website known, and
accomplish this at little cost to you. To realize the full power of articles you need to know a little html and how to use html in formatting
resource boxes.
Getting the most benefit from article submission
When you submit your site to directories, in most cases, you can only direct links to your home or index page. This is a
valuable benefit, and by all means, submit to lots of directories.
Using article submission can help you round out your efforts of marketing to search engines and
visitors alike. Just one of the benefits to article submission is the fact you can direct traffic where you want it to go. This is a good way to
get backlinks and visitors to your inner pages. You can also send visitors to your newsletter signup and help boost your mailing list.
You can, for instance, change your resource box with each article that you submit, and with the use of anchor text and
html you can focus on keywords you want to promote, and also direct traffic and links where you want.
Use html to set up your article resource box with anchor
text
The resource box is the workhorse portion of your article, and I will give an example of how to do this in html. But first
let's talk a little about anchor text. In this sentence I will direct you back to article submission, but
don't go, this just an example. See the blue highlighted text? That is anchor text. When you see blue links they are clickable and will take
you somewhere.
You will often see click here. That is anchor text, but unless you are adobe it is not very effective. Anchor
text should use whatever keywords you want to promote, and with a little html send visitors where you want to direct them. You will
often see product names highlighted. That also is anchor text.
Use html to create your bio resource box with anchor text that is clickable

The above is at the bottom of John Doe's article. John wanted to send visitors to his home page first. The anchor text (in
green) for his home page is fuel efficiency. John also hopes to direct visitors and search engines to his accessories page
hoping to bring both backlinks and visitors who may be looking for vintage auto accessories. Vintage auto accessories is his
second piece of anchor text. The above example is how you set up your resource box in html.
The next article John submits may have the anchor text using fuel efficiently, a variation of the anchor
text he currently features for his home page. And possibly next time he will choose to send visitors to a different inner page.

The first resource box above shows how this would be written in html. The second box demonstrates what it would look
like once the article is published. Of course the links would be blue and clickable. Notice that the anchor text you want to appear and be
clickable comes after the url. Everything that appears starting with a bracket has to be exact. If you leave out a set of quotes, an
equal sign or whatever it will not work.
Learning the basics of html will help you with article submissions and many other small tasks. Here is a fun site for
learning some basic html.
