An ebay account can be set up quickly

Ebay is indeed a seller's bliss because it has a reputation, a huge following, and the necessary tools to get you started in the auction business.

So, you've gone on ebay and cleaned out your garage, attic or basement.  And you have learned some of the basics about listing and auctioning items on ebay. That is good. But...

You've learned this is no way to operate a long term profitable auction business, Give yourself a break. Every business is a learning process, and you've gotten some of the elementary aspects of the auction business out of the way.

Now What? Well, now that you have some of the basics out of the way you get down to business and figure out how you can make ebay and auctions into a long term day to day profitable business.

Cleaning out your attic,  basement or garage using ebay will take a few things off your mind and leave you with less things to deal with, but it is not a long term way to conduct business. You need products to list for auction and you need a constant supply. Closeout or overstock merchandise can fulfill some of your needs but a drop shipper is best for a constant long term supply of items to auction. Now it is time to get serious. Ebay is a way to leverage a business and get started without first building a name for yourself or worry about getting traffic. At least that is true in the beginning.

Ideally in the long term you will probably want to build a website to go along with your ebay business and extend your business possibilities, but first you need to learn how to use ebay to make money and you need to find suppliers so that you have a long term never ending supply of products to sell.

Ebay is a good way to test suppliers and products, to see which suppliers are good and which products sell. You should check suppliers in advance of auction listings by ordering something yourself. This is because, your ebay listings are greatly dependent on your feedback. you don't want to jeopardize your feedback as it won't go away and negatives are not good to have.

Protect your feedback and know and follow ebay guidelines

Protecting your feedback is very important on ebay. It is your reputation that is at stake. Follow up with any questions buyers have promptly, and always get sold items shipped right away. Contact your buyer and let them know that the item is on it's way. This will lessen complaints.

Having sold a few items from your basement or garage will start building feedback. You can also buy a few inexpensive items yourself through the auctions of other's to help build positive ebay feedback. Pay promptly.

Ebay can be a great way to start selling on the internet because you don't have to build your own website right away. Do get your business bank account and your paypal account set up and ready for business.
