Adsense can add to your income

I, personally do not recommend adsense alone as a way to generate online income. Using adsense sites alone as a method of adsense income requires a lot of traffic and a lot of websites.

I may be alone out here by saying that, but I just feel that creating a lot of sites and expecting to make a lot of money through adsense alone is a lot of work. Top marketers who really push creating sites just for adsense already have sites with a lot of clout and so they have a built in advantage. Getting traffic to a website is work, so I favor employing more than one method to generate revenue.

If you have an existing site, you can add adsense for extra income. If you want to have profitable online businesses, you should have websites targeting a variety of markets. Adding some adsense sites should be considered just one more income stream, not your only source of revenue.

So why bother with adsense?

If you are building a content website, adsense can add one more element to generate revenue. You might not make a killing, but you may make enough to pay for hosting and some of your other expenses. And, If your site generates a lot of traffic, you may indeed make some good money.

How can you improve adsense income?

Adsense ads work best if they are placed above the fold, the part of the page visitors see without scrolling. Placing ads close to navigation usually gives good results because that is where visitors eyes will focus. Match the background to the background of your page, and eliminate borders so the ads blend with your copy.

If your page is fairly long ads can be placed in the middle of your copy. Try different ads and test to see what works best for you.

Placing ads close to images or anything that catches the eye will help visibility. Care needs to be taken when placing ads close to images. Placing them in such a manner that they are directly aligned with the ads, and give the impression they are part of the ad is disallowed.Read Google's current rulings. Text ads will give you the most choices, and they come in various sizes and shapes. Be willing to try different things to see what works best with your website.

The content of the adsense ads will be based on the keywords and copy of your page. You can also play with your copy a little to get better ads as long as you don't lose the focus of your initial page and what it is designed to do.

Research keywords to see what adsense is paying for them. You can use filters to block really low paying keywords, When choosing keywords it is better to go middle of the road. The really high paying keywords will be highly competitive, but you don't want the ones that pay very little either.

Google offers a lot of info about adsense, and it is a good idea to go there and read up so you know their guidelines and it may give you some ideas of just what to try. Just keep testing until you find out which adsense ads work best for you.
