Your search skills. How are they?

If you are going to do business on the internet, you will do a lot of surfing, and good search skills are essential. If your search skills are less than great it is easy enough to remedy.

Simple stuff. Do you know what adding (") around your search phrase will do? Do your search skills include any (~)?  Do you know that you can do a search within a specific website?

They provide a decent amount of information that will bump up your search skills, make things easier, and save you a load of time. And help you actually find what you are searching for.

Saving time when you are running a homebased business is important. You wear all the hats. Boss, secretary, research gopher, filing clerk, author and treasurer. With all these jobs you need time saving skills.

The information is there, all you need to do is take advantage of it. Try all the search options you find at Google a couple of times each. Yes, actually do a couple of searches using each of the search options they explain. This will get these search skills in your head and help you to remember them.

Search skills are so important to an internet marketer because the internet so much of the time will be your reference library. Learn to use that reference library to your best advantage. Would it make sense to go the library and not know how to find a specific book? The internet is like  a huge library system all connected together and accessible if you have the needed search skills.

Of course, Google is the big guy, but most people have another search engine or two that they routinely use and these search engines should be checked out as well. Search through any use tips they may offer and see what search skills you can learn to make things easier and your searches more productive.
