Web Hosting Paid or Free?
© Illa Maden November 2006
When considering whether to get web hosting
that is paid or free, maybe a better question to ask yourself is how serious you are about building a real
business.
Profitable home based
businesses on the internet can actually be built at bargain prices
compared with the cost of building a business offline.
Some questions to ponder in regard to free web hosting
are:
|
1. How much storage space does free
hosting offer? 2. What is the
bandwidth? 3 Can you upgrade from free to
paid web hosting if your site grows?
|
4. What happens when you need
help? 5. Do they include PHP?
6. Do they put advertisements or banners on
your site? 7. How many
mailboxes?
|
These are just a few of the questions I would have about free
web hosting.
Web hosting that's paid can be reasonably priced and offers
many benefits
|
1. No banners or advertisements that are
annoying at THE least, and may conflict with website content. 2. PHP
3. Paid web hosting offers service when a problem arises.
|
4. MySQL
databases 5. Bandwidth and storage that
is more than adequate. 6. CGI
7. Auto-responders, mailboxes, tracking and
more
|
Web hosting paid vs web hosting free
Before you accept free web hosting, do a little research. Go to
several paid web hosting sites and review the benefits they offer. Uptime is a benefit I didn't address, but
is an important consideration. You can look at my favorite paid web hosting, which offers many extra benefits and is very responsive, and do a search on the web and
compare plans and features.
Moving a website is not a fun activity. If your website grows will
you have to find a paid web hosting service and move your website? If you are serious about a business this is
something to think about. Consider the benefits of paid web hosting over free web hosting and make an informed
decision.
