Web site graphics can make your web pages more interesting and colorful. Where they focus on  specific products, they can be informative in their appearance and help your visitor connect with the actual product, and make it more appealing.

That being said, graphics on a web site, can be a problem if over-used, or presented in the wrong way.

When adding graphics to your web site consider why. What will the graphics do for your web page? Are they necessary, and will the graphics add to your web site?

Resize web site images in a graphics editor. Use fewer graphics. Where lots of images are necessary, use thumbnails which can be enlarged by your visitor, for better viewing. Place a caption under graphic telling visitor that image can be enlarged. Don't take it for granted that they know.

Do use graphics on your web site, but do it with good judgement. Images can really liven up a web site and make it more interesting, and boost sales. If web site graphics are a new subject for you, do some research and find out how to best use and manipulate them on a web site.

Web site graphics can greatly add to a site, but can also be a distraction where they are not appropriate, or when too many are displayed needlessly.
