A website builder will be a necessary resource once you have brainstormed, done your keyword research, and focused in on  what you will market.

There are free website builders and more fully featured paid versions. Some are internet based and others can be downloaded and used from your desktop.  Even if your budget can handle the paid versions, if this is new to you, using a free website builder for some practice might be a good option. Listed below is a free version of a website builder. There are others, but this is an easy to use program with a fair number of features. 

The Nvu website builder is free to download. It has tabbed functions so you can write your website using the wysiwyg function and it will be much like using a word processor. The tabbed function let's you switch so you can also use html if you choose. Once you have Nvu downloaded, there is a printable manual that can be accessed through the help menu. Paid versions of website builders are, of course, more fully featured and allow you to build a website with more ease and often added features not available with the free website builders.

Xsitepro is a terrific site builder that you can own. It's list of features goes on and on. Xsitepro can be used with html if you choose, but it is a WYSIWYG so it works pretty much like a word processor. It's SEO feature helps you build with the search engines in mind, it creates navigation menus and sitemaps automatically, and updates them as you build or make changes, creates popups, redirect pages, and adds Google adsense or other ads with a couple of clicks. Xsitepro has design wizards that add bulleted lists, boxes and frames, links to other pages and much more.

It offers many templates built in, which are easily customizable, easily add video, rss feeds, or sign-up forms. There is little that you would need that is not contained within XsitePro.

This is such a good product with so many easily implemented features, that I just don't recommend any other web builder  these days.
